I like the idea of the Lilypads - floating ecopoleis made of polyester. Some of the other ideas listed here are equally fantastic.

This sounds reasonable and I should try it. The rest of the hacks are also interesting (mostly), although some are nonsense (take the "buried alive" one, for example).
