Rainbow Eucalyptus: The Most Beautiful Tree in the World

rainbow eucalyptus trees

When Nature feels like painting…

Eucalyptus deglupta is commonly known as the Rainbow Eucalyptus because of its unique way of shedding its bark. Once shed, the inner bark that is revealed is bright green, but eventually matures to blue, purple, orange, and eventually maroon. The rainbow eucalyptus does not shed its bark all at once, but in sections throughout the year, allowing for the amazing rainbow effect.

Also known as ‘Mindanao gum’, or ‘rainbow gum’, this beautiful tree is native to the Philippines, Indonesia and Papua New Guinea. It is the only Eucalyptus species that usually lives in rain forest – with a natural range extending into the northern hemisphere – and one of only four Eucalyptus species out of more than 700 that do not occur in Australia.

Sheer beauty.

  1. Funny thing about life…we can all look at this tree and have a different opinion. And life is good …. for most. Simply reading comments shows the level of happiness or the struggle in each … back to this tree – it brings joy to look at it, I would love to see it in reality one day. I wish peace to those with struggles, joy to each other and compassion to those who feel enlightened.

  2. The religious nutters that proffer their sad little comments are always so amusing. The trees are beautiful, let’s leave it at that.

    • Freedom is a strange thing at times. Freedom of speech, Freedom of religion. People have a right to their own opinion. The key is to not let someone else’s comments about your belief, still your joy. That’s is the key to total peace. And yes the tree is beautiful, if that is the best word to describe such a majestic sight. Peace

  3. What is the point? The point in arguing, each one of us has our own Truths our own perception of things.
Why do people feel the need to have you agree with them. It doesn’t matter, any of it.
    Life is to short
    Smile fa the inside out.
An appreciate the things we have around us, like this amazing Tree
    Love Light, x❤️

  4. I find that social media can often be a wasteful curse on mankind. Does any else out there agree with me how pathetic it is that one negative post at the top of a thread can degenerate to where we are now?

    • You will stand before God one day and only you can be accountable for you actions so I’d be very careful how you refer to God loving serving people.

    • Not photo shopped. I lived on Maui for 10 years. these trees do exist and they are just as beautiful as they are in these pics.

    • What is wrong with you? Do you go through life with this disgusting mouth and language? I don’t see where anyone spoke negatively to you. It’s terrible that a post about beautiful trees could received such negative comments or hatred towards others.

    • For those of you who live near Miami, FL you can see this tree at Fairchild Tropical Gardens – it is amazing. I have photos (actually slides) for proof there is no Photo Shop involved. So, if you doubt it I recommend you drop that idea and just enjoy what Mother Nature has given us.

  5. It is almost impossible to convince anyone that God is real by using common sense argument. It never works! If you actually believe that this vast & endless universe that we live in just came about at random over millions of years, while at the same time it continues to grow & change, then you must have a very small mind! Just look at the complexities of Nature on our planet alone & the Billions of Living Creatures on this Earth whose very existence is linked to their place in the food chain! Is that just the result of a Big Bang???!!! If you really believe that then I own a big bridge between Manhattan & Brooklyn that’s for sale!!!

  6. Oh please leave your god out of this.
We all know it’s an idea that is hard to change your minds about so we won’t try. But please just STFU about it. We are not advocating the absence of a god everi chance we get so you need to stop inserting your concept into everything.

  7. All trees are beautiful in different ways, but yes this 1 is pretty spectacular! ? – Doesn’t need the over-saturation edit of Pic 2.
