In the city of bikes, it’s no big deal…
Amsterdam has gained a reputation for being one of the most bike-friendly cities due to its extensive bicycle infrastructure, careful planning, and substantial funding. It also attracts tourists with its cycling culture. However, the city faces challenges such as a significant number of bike thefts, safety concerns, and occasional overcrowding in certain areas.
Due to their convenience, the small size of Amsterdam, the extensive 400 km network of bike paths, the flat terrain, and the inconvenient nature of driving, bicycles are utilized by people from all socio-economic backgrounds. The use of cars is discouraged in the city, with expensive parking fees and numerous streets closed to automobile traffic or restricted to one-way travel (while remaining accessible to cyclists).
Apparently, cycling with 3 kids is a daily routine in Amsterdam, and knowing the city I reckon it’s even safe. Check out video below to see how a ride starts…
