No, it’s real…The Solvay Hut or Solvay Bivouac is a mountain hut located on the north-eastern ridge of the Matterhorn, near Zermatt in the canton of Valais. At 4,003 meters it is the highest mountain hut owned by the Swiss Alpine Club, but it can be used only in case of emergency.

It’s not a house, it’s a rest stop for climbers. They used pack animals, and built a tramway to get materials up. Google “Matterhorn huts” for more info.
