Parasitic City Takes Root on the Foundations of a Decommissioned Highway Bridge

Back in 2010, a region of southern Italy announced a competition to decide how to reuse a stretch of the Salerno-Reggio Calabria highway, located between Sicily and Bagnara, with a focus on implementing renewable energy into the infrastructure. Although this particular proposal by Canadian firm Ja Studio didn’t actually meet the requirements, the idea of buildings sprouting on a bridge has definitely taken root in our minds.
