We all deal with the isolation and anxiety of social distancing and quarantine in different ways, but this new witty challenge can definitely give everybody a direly needed boost of endorphin.
The idea of coming up with hilarious photo recreations of old masterpieces can be traced back at least as far as March 22, when the @covidclassics Instagram account was created. On it, “4 roommates who love art… and are indefinitely quarantined” began recreating classic paintings using only items they could find in their own home. (“No filters, no edits, just us and the stuff in our house”)
Then, probably inspired by the series, the Getty Museum followed suit, announcing a Twitter challenge with similar rules and lots of entries pouring in.
Needless to say, we love the results. Apparently, the more bored people are getting, the more creative they are becoming…
