God’s Eye View: The Bible According to Google Earth

Have you ever wondered what biblical events might look like if captured by satellite imagery? Imagine zooming in on Google Earth and seeing the parting of the Red Sea or the site of the Crucifixion. This is exactly the thought experiment Sydney-based art collective The Glue Society explored with their project titled “God’s Eye View.” The project uses digitally altered satellite imagery to depict iconic biblical scenes, offering a fresh and thought-provoking perspective on these familiar stories. While not intended as a theological statement, “God’s Eye View” challenges viewers to consider the intersection of faith, technology, and our perception of history.
