The Heihe-Tengchong line: 94% of China’s Population Lives East of This Line

According to 2002 statistics, 57% of China lies West of the line, and 43% East of the line – with 94% of the population. I will never understand what they needed Tibet, or even East Turkistan for. Apparently, most of the Chinese have stayed in what was China originally.
